The Message Validity Period is where you can reduce the number of hours that the networks will attempt to deliver the message for in the event that the message cannot be delivered immediately.

To get the maximum retry time, please enter in 0 as the validity period and the networks will send for as long as possible.

The general network default is 72 hours but you can reduce this if the message information is only useful within a certain time period.

It shouldn't be used to try and extend the retry time and the networks may automatically fail the message if the validity period is greater than 72 hours.

If the validity period passes and the message still cannot be delivered, the message will show as expired.

Previously some networks allowed a request for up to 168 hours but they have now reduced the maximum limit. To get the most retry time please set this as 0.

Please note, the validity period is a request to the networks, which they may disregard without notice.
